P.E. POSTING FROM THE GYMNASIUM

The weather cannot make up its mind!  Cold one day, warm the next. Cloudy one day, sunny the next.  Many students wear boots to school due to the weather. So do I.  But it is important to wear proper shoes to class. This will keep your child safer in P.E.

Please  no boots, crocs, sandals or dress shoes on P.E. day.

3rd through 5th grade classes are using Google Classroom for the P.E. calendars. The

February P.E. calendar has been assigned through the 3rd through 5th

grade P.E. Google classrooms. Please look for it there. I have provided a hard copy for 2nd grade students only.    The students will be able to type on their calendar and submit it for a grade through the Google P.E. classroom for their homeroom. Only two calendars are given as homework each semester. The April calendar will be assigned near the end of March.

K and 1st grade students have been working on rolling and balance skills on the mats. 2nd graders are working on mat skills as well and also improving their forward two-foot rope jumping skills. They will be tested on their rope jumping skills later this month.

The great news is that the 2nd graders have also completed their state assessments!  All of us are very happy about this news!

3rd through 5th grade have been working on jumping hurdles, running relays and other events that are part of the Age Group Track Program.  Letters to 4th and 5th grade parents of students who are interested in participating in the program were sent home on January 31st. Tryouts will be after school on Wednesday, Feb 19th.  Practices will be Mondays and Wednesdays after school for the following 3 weeks. Again letters will be sent home with info on practices once students have returned the permission form to be considered for this program.

5th grade students will be reviewing for their written test on fitness, physical activity and sport questions which will be given in February.
