Final Notes from Mrs. Dean

Happy Summer!

It is with many different emotions I write this to thank all of the King families and students for their well wishes and kind words as I retire.  It has been a wonderful career and the 17 years I was blessed to share in the lives of King families are irreplaceable.

Thank you to all who sent in the cards for the memory book PTA organized.  It will take me most of the summer to get through all of it.  A huge thanks also for the PTA gift for a wonderful overnight getaway.  That will be used before the school bells ring in August.

Are you wondering what is happening next?  I’m sure King families will hear from the new principal once he/she gets settled in.  Mystery Camps and Camp Invention are taking place over the summer.  It is wonderful that so many families wanted to participate that we have waiting lists in most camps.

On August 30, 31, and September 1 students in grades K-3 will sign up for a half hour session to meet the homeroom teacher and complete beginning of the year assessments.  Parents should call the office to schedule those appointments.  Mrs. Muica, school secretary, will return to school on August 2 so call and schedule your time.  Grades 4 and 5 will begin classes on August 30.  The first day of classes for Grades K-3 students is September 2.

Supply lists and information about next year’s class were included with report cards.  The Board of Education has postponed a return to uniforms for next school year.  Details about returning to school, masks, class sizes, and other health related regulations will be shared in August.

Enjoy your summer, stay safe!
